There are a million good reasons to raise money for charity – but I feel particularly inclined when it comes to PID UK.

I lost my Dad to a PID in 1984, at a time when there were undoubtedly fewer resources available to PID sufferers. The vulnerability that PID sufferers have to live with is frightening, but the fantastic work that PID UK has done over the years, to support and educate those affected, has provided much needed hope.

I took part in the 2014 Sunshine Coast Marathon for PID UK and I’ll be getting behind the charity again when I run the Gold Coast Marathon on 3 July 2016. I’m a long way from being a strong runner, so I’m hoping my efforts (and constant cramps!) compel others to take an interest and donate to this great cause.
