My name is Ewan Crawford and I am fundraising for PID UK by competing in the Kintyre Way Ultramarathon in memory of my mother.
Running with me are Julie and Gary Cockburn. We are all keen trail runners and have competed in many races prior to registering for this event, which is scheduled to take place at the end of August.
My teammates have competed in the Tiree Ultramarathon before, but I have yet to accomplish that distance. It is 32 miles along the Kintyre Way.
My mother, Lesley Crawford, is my inspiration for taking on the challenge and raising money for PID UK. She sadly died following a short-term battle with an autoimmune disease.
We have surpassed our target of raising £1000 but would love to keep the fundraising going. We have all been training hard and are looking forward to completing the race.
