Eight-year-old Harry Chambers from Northern Ireland lives with XLA (X-linked agammaglobulinemia), a condition requiring regular infusion treatments every two weeks. Despite this challenge, Harry continues to thrive thanks to the dedicated support of the Immunology Department at Belfast’s Royal Victoria Hospital, where he receives his essential care.

Harry’s mother, Lyndsey Chambers, Head of Music at Dromore High School in Co. Down, organised a special Candlelight Service at the historic Dromore Cathedral to raise funds for Immunodeficiency UK. The event brought together the local community for a beautiful musical evening.

As a family living with XLA, Immunodeficiency UK’s monthly bulletins have been an invaluable source of support,” shares Lyndsey. “They help us stay informed about the latest research and provide crucial understanding for families like ours. Their work makes us feel truly understood and supported in managing this lifelong condition.

The successful fundraising event not only raised vital funds but also helped increase awareness about immunodeficiency conditions in the local community.

Would you like to support children like Harry? Why not fundraise for us and contribute to Immunodeficiency UK’s vital work supporting families affected by immunodeficiency.
