We’re proud to shine a spotlight on Sophie and Micky’s incredible fundraising journey.
Sophie and Micky took on an inspiring challenge, walking and hiking a staggering 870 miles of the Wales Coast Path—from rugged cliffs to stunning beaches, through bustling cities and quiet towns—all to raise awareness and vital funds for Immunodeficiency UK.
Jasper was diagnosed in August 2023 with a rare form of APDS (Activated PI3K Delta Syndrome) after years of ongoing health issues, Jasper is the only known child in Wales with this specific genetic mutation. Read his story here.
Inspired by Jasper’s journey and resilience, Sophie decided to embark on her own challenge to raise funds for Immunodeficiency UK. Joined by her friend Micky, Sophie took on the Mighty Hike—a 135-mile journey around Anglesey—with the goal of supporting other families facing similar challenges. The funds raised will go directly toward providing essential resources and services to those affected by immunodeficiency, offering the guidance and support that Sophie’s family found invaluable.
On behalf of everyone at Immunodeficiency UK, we extend our deepest gratitude to Sophie, Micky, and every supporter who contributed to this fundraiser. Your generosity will make a lasting impact on families like Sophie’s who navigate the complex and challenging world of immunodeficiency.
The incredible £2,500 that they raised for Immunodeficiency UK will make a profound impact. These crucial funds will go towards providing essential support to other families like Sophie’s who are navigating rare immunodeficiency diseases.
