On April 26th, 2025, Steven took on the formidable Born Survivor challenge, the UK’s toughest 10km obstacle course, to honour the memory of his beloved father, Dave, who passed away on June 15th, 2024. What began as a personal tribute transformed into an incredible fundraising success for Immunodeficiency UK.

Born Survivor is not your ordinary 10km run. Set in the rugged terrain of Cheshire, participants face over 30 military-inspired obstacles, demanding both physical strength and mental resilience. From mud pits and ice baths to towering walls and rope climbs, Steven pushed himself to the limit to complete this grueling challenge.

Steven’s motivation came from a deeply personal place. After losing his dad to immunodeficiency in June 2024, he chose to support Immunodeficiency UK to help others who might face similar situations.

Through his fundraiser, Steven aimed to create something positive from his loss while honouring his father’s memory in a meaningful way.

Steven’s initial fundraising target was £750, but the overwhelming support helped him shatter that goal. By late January 2025, Steven had already surpassed his original target and raised it to £1,000.

By the time he completed the Born Survivor challenge, Steven had raised an incredible £1,216.43, with an additional £285.50 in Gift Aid, bringing the total impact to £1,501.93 for Immunodeficiency UK.

The funds raised through Steven’s challenge are helping Immunodeficiency UK continue their vital work supporting individuals and families affected by immunodeficiencies.

Steven’s journey from personal loss to positive action stands as an inspiration for anyone looking to make a difference in honour of a loved one.
