We’re continually inspired by the dedication, creativity, and kindness of our amazing supporters. Your generosity helps us continue supporting people living with primary and secondary immunodeficiency across the UK. As a charity that receives no government funding, everything we achieve is only possible thanks to people like you.
Here are just some of the inspiring fundraising stories from our community in 2025:

Jim’s 80th birthday celebration
Long-time supporter Jim Carvell marked his 80th birthday with friends and family at The Stables restaurant in Groomsport, Co. Down — and instead of gifts, guests donated to Immunodeficiency UK, raising an amazing £560!
We’re so grateful to Jim and his wife Heather for their generosity.

Katy ran a marathon for her sister
Running a marathon was more than a personal goal for Katy, it was a heartfelt tribute to her sister Emma, who lives with Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID).
Katy’s determination inspired supporters to donate over £2,000. Thank you, Katy, for shining a light on this vital cause and running 26.2 miles for Immunodeficiency UK!
Steven’s Born Survivor challenge
Taking on one of the UK’s toughest 10km runs, Steven raised £1,500 in memory of his dad, who sadly passed away in 2024. His strength and compassion are truly inspiring.
Blanche’s RomaOstia half marathon
In March, Blanche ran the RomaOstia Half Marathon in memory of her friends’ son, raising funds for both Immunodeficiency UK and LaSpes ONLUS, supporting rare disease research. Blanche raised over £380 for us, thank you for turning your compassion into action.
Lloyds Clinical Team awareness week fundraising

Sophie running for her sons
When Sophie Hughes crossed the finish line at the Worthing Half Marathon, she did it for her two sons, Hayden and Jake, who both live with mannose-binding lectin deficiency.
Her £200 target quickly grew to £830, proving that small goals can make a big impact.
Carol-Anne’s Glasgow Kiltwalk
A big well done to Carol-Anne, who joined the Glasgow Kiltwalk and raised over £162 to support individuals and families affected by primary and secondary immunodeficiency.

Eight-year-old Harry’s loom band fundraiser
One of our youngest fundraisers, Harry, who lives with a primary immunodeficiency, raised £163 with his classmates by selling handmade loom band bracelets. When asked why, Harry simply said: “I wanted to make money for them because they do so much to help me.” At just eight years old, Harry reminds us why our work matters.
Together, you’re helping us make a real difference.
From in memorial donations, birthdays and marathons to school projects and charity walks, every effort counts. Thank you to everyone who’s fundraised, donated, or shared our message this year. Your support ensures that no one faces immunodeficiency alone.
Susan, our CEO says ‘We couldn’t do what we do without our generous supporters. Each donation fills Fay and I with warmth and gratitude and inspires our work to support you. We cannot thank you enough.’
